Top 3 computer issues and how to fix them
1. The number issue people have with their computer is… it’s too slow!
Nowadays, computers have much more of everything than it was long ago. A computer today usually has 2 GHz CPU, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive. Equally so, the applications and uses for the computer demands this increased specifications. If the computer is slow, first determine what hardware you have. If the hardware is too old then you may need to upgrade to a newer machine. Otherwise, it could be a problem with the operating system (Windows or MacOS) or a particular application (usually web browsers with tons of open tabs).
2. Your movie stops halfway
The internet is where it’s at these days. With so many services being offered via the internet it takes a lot of bandwidth to serve up certain kinds of content, like videos or online games. If you’re browsing the internet or watching a YouTube video and it starts to freeze, plays choppy or takes forever to load. You know the forever like 1 minute ;) Then it may be an issue with your internet connection. In that case, you could call your ISP or you could try these tips first and save some minutes from being on hold.- Ensure other devices aren’t using the internet. Depending on your subscription, you may get 10Mbps which should be enough for one person to watch a few videos and surf the net comfortably. However, when you add more devices or opened tabs or applications that use the internet, your connection speed may reach its limit.
- Run the network trouble-shooter and let it resolve the issues. Most times, the trouble-shooter can repair or resolve any issues it finds.
- Unplug the Ethernet cable or switch off wireless, wait a minute, then plug it in again or turn on wireless. This basically resets the connection.
3. Overheating
Overheating can lead to a major computer failure resulting in the computer not booting or coming on.- Ensure all vents are not blocked
- Keep the computer in a cool area
- Pay attention to the computer fan, if it isn’t working fix it
- If you’re unsuccessful, call your ISP for support

I am always told to shut down and restart.... Thanks for not saying that...
ReplyDeleteUsually my problems started when I first got my PC and didn't install an Anti Virus. A few weird sites later and holy moly was I in some bad mojo. As for the online gaming I made the mistake of playing over Wifi and after plugging in directly from the ethernet router, Wifi can suck it. I aint ever going back. As for movies not playing you need Codecs man. CCCP all the way and VLC player never get rickrolled again
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your PC. Anti-virus is a definite must no matter your operating system.
DeleteYou're right, for gaming Ethernet is highly recommended. Also, VLC is definitely awesome.
